As a result Ireland's patriotic and rebellious history, genealogy research of Irish ancestors is not an easy task but it can be exciting and rewarding. From the early Christian missionaries to the Flight of the Earls in 1607 and right through the mass emigrations after successive famines, Irish people have left these shores in great numbers to find their livelihood and vocations in other countries.

For some time now, descendents from this expatriate community have been successful in establishing their link to the country from which their ancestors emigrated.

Should you wish to trace your Irish ancestors there is a lot I can help you with. An assessment of your family information is often enough to start the process and give an indication of what resources might be useful in finding your relatives. Access to some public records incurs a nominal charge of €7/€10 per item while others are free so it is practical to have an expert do some initial research. The results can then be used as a strategy to plan your trip for further research and perhaps even meet some of those Irish relations.
